1:1 Creative Support for Artists Across Disciplines

For your process, projects, thresholds, and idea-building.
Custom 1:1 support to move your ideas into form.
From first spark to finished projects.

The drive to make is still here. It’s harder to hold alone.

You are a seeker, hungry for depth and traction.

You value process and examination. You crave creative protocols that lead you forward. You’re looking for nuanced feedback, and comprehensive support that align with your vision.

You want to expand, deepening your practice and making what matters most. Especially now, when it’s easy to feel uncertain about what’s worth making, or whether making is enough.

1:1 support can meet you here.

• starting or finishing a project
• clarifying next steps
• building and flexing an idea
• generating material from the page you’re on
• catalytic feedback
• feeling stuck, scattered, or directionless
• returning to a project with new eyes
• fatigue, defeat, or stuckness

WHERE ARE YOU IN YOUR PROCESS?

THE WORK UNDER THE SURFACE

Animate & Activate
You may feel frozen between thought and action. You might be stuck, unsure how to begin, or unable to choose a next step. We can locate the seed of what matters, generate material, and translate it into a buildable path.

THE WORK IN BLOOM

Mid-Bloom / Mid-Build
You are in motion. A draft, a rehearsal, a revision. You want feedback that clarifies what is working and what wants to change. We strengthen structure, expand your range, and develop the next phase with focus and momentum.

THE WORK BECOMING

New Work, Shifting Modalities, Returning to a Project
You are circling a bigger move. A long-held project, a new form, or a new way of working. You feel the pull, but you need pathways, strategies to build traction, steady the signal, and transmute the charge into form.

A Few Ways to Begin

1:1 Process & Project Support

Clarity. Agency. Arrival. Together we move your project, your process, or your body of work into what’s fully alive and undeniably yours.

Art Labs

Labs and workshops that deepen your process, disrupt what’s familiar, and expand what you’re making.

Body Work

Your body is the curriculum.
These sessions weave wide-ranging modalities to meet the evolving needs of your body and the creative life you’re living.
I’ll just say that there is no one else I know who does this work like she does; backed by an overwhelming history of experience, achievement, and research.

Working with Darla for this year, has been so freeing creatively, instructive mentally and essential physically, making me a more authentic, centered, and confident artist. I was in the studio painting last week in an absolutely different headspace. no critic. It was revolutionary and curious and kind. Now when challenged I don’t doubt my skill or vision, I step back, I question, I problem solve. I allow for learning and experimentation.

Darla helps me question myself. Stay true to myself. She helps me point my energy in alignment with my ideas. I can’t say enough to recommend her to you if you want a surer creative footing for your practice.

Sometimes all we need is to be given the tools or just a gentle nudge to enter the process differently. I have always marveled at Darla’s way of looking at, and seeing into and through things. I envy the clarity of that seeing, but also her succinct articulation of what is not seen. As a multidisciplinary artist and 1:1 collaborator, Darla brings a broad spectrum of gifts that add tremendously to any creative process.

For the creative human you are and the work you make.

To be seen, heard and understood is life changing and life giving. Welcome to your creative process: a lighthouse, a home, a space of ongoing transformation.

I work 1:1 with artists across disciplines. These descriptors are only indicators, not definitions. You are more than any label.

Context is the catalyst.

I learn you in context so the support reflects your vision, needs, and rhythm. Together we build clarity and direction, then move into creative action.

Guggenheim Fellow and MacDowell Fellow. Twenty years of interdisciplinary practice across visual art, performance, directing, writing, and idea building.

You are the genesis of all you make, and your evolving creative identity will require new strategies for discovery and expedition.

Darla’s ability to cultivate and foster a space that is innovative within multifaceted realms of creativity is remarkable. Her ability to authenticate the work radiates and brightens the mind. Her zealous spirit, and tenacity to all aspects, integrative to a rich and mindfully crafted approach is amazing. Beautifully articulated within her work, is her ability to innovate, rejuvenate and expand understanding beyond horizons to the wonderful place of the heart.

Artist

Generate sustained and renewed energy to tend your plural worlds—be they civic, familial, or entirely your own.

I am an educator and a maker. This can be thrilling work.

It is also lonely and draining. The highs and lows can decenter me.

When I am with Darla I become a learner and collaborator. Her deep, care-filled listening, and clear, concrete guidance re-connects me to my deepest sources of energy and creativity.

Her wisdom is lived, refined by deliberation and study, and clarified by the joys released and metabolized through action. While my work can feel solitary work, Darla is there as collaborater, companion and witness.

If you’ve made it all the way here—thank you. I hope something sparked a yes.

I know what it means to walk a creative path that doesn’t always make sense on paper. I know what it is to carry beauty and weight in equal measure.

This work is about more than output or momentum. It’s where your instincts are trusted, your curiosities are fed, and your voice has space to surprise even you.

There’s space here for what you’re carrying—and what you’re ready to make.

Something’s stirring. Let’s follow it together.

You don’t need a plan, I’ll meet you right where you are.
You’ll gain clarity, next steps, and more breath.

Sometimes it helps to name what’s circling, or ask the thing you’ve been holding. If a quick check-in feels good, I’ve got time.
No freebie vibes. Just real talk. My treat.
